Short History

The project for the P99 pistol began in 1994, with its first presentation occurring in 1997, the same year that mass production started. This model represented a significant leap for the Walther company, following a change in management. The new model was initially used by the German police in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. From there, the pistol was ordered by many other law enforcement agencies worldwide due to its highly maneuverable revolutionary design and good reliability.

Exterior of the Replica

Similar to the real weapon, this replica manufactured by Umarex features a metal upper and a plastic lower. Its design closely resembles the P99 made by Walther. On the right side above the trigger, there is a safety, and on the left side, there is the slide catch for releasing the slide. The design of the replica is based on a chamber intended for CO2 storage, separate from the BB magazine. Like the real weapon, the P99 DAO has recoil, and due to the material from which the slide is made, the sound produced when firing is a metallic sound.

Interior of the Replica

The internal mechanism of the replica is made of metal and operates strictly with CO2. The design of the internal mechanism does not rely on recoil to re-cock the replica. The recoil is purely decorative. Cocking the hammer and loading BBs is strictly done by pulling the trigger, resulting in a slightly heavier trigger pull. The replica does not feature an adjustable hop-up.

Power Source

The replica operates with 12g CO2 capsules stored inside the grip. The magazine of the replica is operated separately from the CO2 compartment. We recommend using high-quality BBs and not reusing BBs. Otherwise, the replica may become damaged.
