Short history

Developed by STI International in 2011, it is meant to offer the modern version of the classic 1911 to the public. Among the advantages of the new model are increased magazine capacity, the pistol caliber decreasing from 0.45 ACP (11.5mm) to 9mm, reduced recoil, and due to modern materials, a lighter weight. This model is successfully used by law enforcement forces as well as by the public for personal protection.

Exterior of the replica

This toy replica is manufactured by KJW mostly from metal. Due to the Hi-Capa platform, the handle is made of quality ABS plastic. This contributes to reducing the weight, and in case of damage, only this component can be easily replaced. The airsoft replica finishes are very good, with the outer barrel being chromed and the paint applied on the other components being very resistant. The rear sight is adjustable. This toy replicates the safety elements specific to the 2011 model, namely; the grip safety, which prevents cocking the hammer without a firm grip on the pistol, and the ambidextrous thumb safety.

Interior of the replica

Given that this airsoft replica is based on the Hi-Capa platform, the internals are compatible with this series, expanding the possibilities for upgrades and replacements if necessary. The Hop-Up is adjustable from inside the toy. Therefore, to adjust it, the slide must be removed. Once adjusted, this Hop-Up is constant and does not change its position during operation. The airsoft replica has a speed of approximately 100 meters per second measured with 0.20g BBs. It is recommended to use 0.25g BBs for optimal performance.

Power source

A major advantage of the airsoft replica is the possibility of using both CO2 and gas magazines. The KJW builders have designed the latest versions of this replica so that both gas and CO2 can be used without additional pressure on the firing system. The speed will increase when using CO2, so pay close attention to the game rules to avoid exceeding the safety speed limit.

Periodically, the airsoft replica should be cleaned and lubricated according to the recommendations in the Service and Care section. This way, the airsoft replica can function correctly for a long period of time.
