Brief History

SCAR stands for Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle and was developed by FN Herstal for the "United States Special Operation Command" or SOCOM for short, with the intention of providing an extremely versatile platform capable of rapid modification and accessorization based on user needs. It first appeared in 2004 and saw action in 2007 during pre-selection competitions. It was fielded in 2009 and is still used today in several countries around the world. This weapon is calibrated in two variants; 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm, Light and Heavy. Both versions exist in both long and short forms.

Exterior of the Replica

This replica is made by Dboys and is designed to replicate the Light version, CQB, 5.56 mm. It is constructed similarly to the real weapon, with the upper part made of metal and the lower part from ABS plastic. The controls are akin to the real weapon, with an ambidextrous fire selector and mag catch. On the upper part of the replica, there is a standard rail running the entire length. At the front, there are rails on both sides and underneath for easy accessorization. The stock of the replica is made from ABS plastic and its length is adjustable, as is the height of the cheek pad. Like the real platform, the presented SCAR is designed to be easily operated by those familiar with the M4 platform. The grip and controls are similar to the M4 and it works with M4/M16 magazines. The replica is equipped with a classic, foldable sighting system to make room for an advanced sighting device. For mounting a sling, there are attachments at the front of the replica as well as at the back, on both sides.

Interior of the Replica

The replica operates with a standard version 2 gearbox that allows for modification when desired. The entire gearbox assembly presents standard performance. The gears have a ratio of 18:1 and the motor is a normal torque type. The hop-up chamber is specific to SCAR and the inner barrel has a diameter of 6.08 mm. The length of the inner barrel is 280 mm. The replica is capable of firing BBs at a speed of 115-120 m/s using 0.20g BBs. The hop-up adjustment is located inside the ejection port.

Power Supply

The package includes an 8.4V 1100mAh NiMH battery but does not include a charger for the battery. We recommend that when purchasing the replica, you also include a special charger for NiMH batteries in your order. The battery compartment is located inside the stock and is accessible by lifting the cheek pad. The replica can operate with 8.4V or 9.6V NiMH batteries or 7.4V LiPo. Any voltage above 9.6V can severely damage the toy. We recommend using only high-quality BBs and not reusing BBs as this may cause the replica to malfunction.
