Brief History

FN Five Seven is a semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Fabrique Nationale d'Armes de Guerre-Herstal, or simply FN Herstal, located in Belgium. The name comes from the caliber of the pistol, 5.7x28mm. This model first hit the market in 1998. Its development dates back to the early 1990s (1993) when there was a desire for a weapon capable of using the ammunition employed by the P90 SMG. This controversial ammunition can penetrate certain armors at impressive distances. Following the design of the P90, the FN Five Seven is made from plastic materials, keeping its weight low while its design offers exceptional maneuverability. Its commercialization was strictly for military forces until 2004 when civilian ownership was allowed, but only with non-penetrating ammunition. Today, the FN Five Seven is used and appreciated in over 40 countries, especially by law enforcement agencies.

Exterior of the Replica

This replica is marketed by Cybergun and produced by Marushin. The exterior of the replica closely mimics the real firearm. It is made from high-quality plastic, and all controls are exactly where they should be. The airsoft replica even has some advantages over the real weapon, namely an adjustable sight. The recoil of the replica is impressive, especially due to the use of CO2 as a propellant.

The outer barrel is made of metal, providing improved durability. As is customary with military pistols, there is a standard rail on the underside for mounting accessories such as lasers, flashlights, and more. The controls are designed for right-handed users. Thus, the disassembly button, slide catch, and mag catch are located on the left side. A nice feature is the ambidextrous safety, easily accessible with the index finger on the right side and the thumb of the left hand in a tactical shooting position.

Interior of the Replica

Manufactured by Marushin, the internal components are of the highest quality. Despite using CO2 as a propellant, the design and internal materials provide good reliability over time. The inner barrel is made of brass and has a diameter of 6.08mm, and thanks to the adjustable hop-up, the effective range is surprisingly good despite the low velocity. The replica's velocity is approximately 70-80 meters per second, measured with 0.20g BBs. It is recommended to use BBs weighing 0.20g for optimal performance.

Power Supply

The replica operates with 12g CO2 cartridges. It is recommended to use CO2 specifically designed for airsoft replicas. The CO2 consumption is impressive. With one cartridge, it can fire up to 100 BBs. It is advisable to use high-quality BBs. Reusing BBs or using low-quality BBs may damage the replica.
