The M-Tac Patrol Flex Jacket has a comfortable, slightly soft cut. The jacket features a high collar, a Velcro zipper, as well as a central closure in the form of a detachable plastic "tractor" zipper that covers the Velcro strips. There are two hidden vertical Velcro pockets on the chest for easy access to their contents, as well as horizontal Velcro panels for attaching patches. Embroidered eyelets for improved ventilation are located under the armpits. The sleeves have a vertical zip pocket with a Velcro panel for attaching handles or similar equipment. There is a reinforced yoke on the upper back, with a Velcro panel for an IR marker under the collar, and along the armor contour there are expansion pleats that help maintain arm movement freedom, even when a vest or gear is worn over the jacket.
